Douglass Beach in Winter

Located within walking distance of the town of Knowlton, Douglass Beach comes alive from the beginning of winter until the arrival of spring. It’s a favourite destination for hikers, skaters, cross-country skiers and snowshoeing fans, and the perfect place for a family outing!

As soon as the ice is solid enough, a large skating rink is cleared on the lake’s surface. Every weekend from December to March, Scandinavian kicksleds, adults’ and children’s snowshoes and cross-country skis can be rented on-site. On the beach, there’s always a fire burning in the outdoor fireplace to keep visitors warm.

You can put your snowshoes on at the beach and take the Coldbrook Path to the town of Knowlton (2.2 km) or Trestle Cove (1.1 km). The trail provides splendid views of the lake and the magnificent properties that line its shores.

Dogs on a leash are welcome.
