Born in England, Sarah Porter has been living and painting in Brome Lake since 2007. She studied fine arts at Sunderland College of Art and University of London before emigrating to Canada. After working as a graphic designer and illustrator in Montréal, she returned to England for several years in 1994, where she joined a London-based group of artists, Five Women Artists Plus. She exhibited regularly with the group and took part in several individual and group shows. Her travels in Central America, Africa, Yemen, Bhutan and Tibet and her love of textiles inspire her richly coloured paintings, which incorporate numerous symbolic references. Sarah Porter works in oils and mixed media on canvas and in acrylics and oil pastels on paper.
